Ruben Kurschat

As the founder of stadt im ohr | urban sounds to go, I design and produce audio plays for urban exploration. The overall composition of current and historical original sounds, location-based music, supporting sound and noise collages and a combination of fact and fiction give the audio tours their specific radio play character.

I am the managing director of Guidemate, the platform for audio walks, audio guides and audio tours, and a founding member of Soundmarker, a laboratory for location-based audio works.

EINSTECKEN & AUSTEILEN May 2024

EINSTECKEN & AUSTEILEN - Foto: Damian Domes The collective audio exploration Einstecken & Austeilen was a guest at the 11th dokKa festival. We give and take, receive and give as a gift, beg and donate, fetch and bring, demand and encourage, steal and force... We are constantly taking and giving. We give our hearts away, wish for credibility, distribute our wisdom, search for answers, sublet our flats, agitate or incite each other, pay money for bread rolls. Together with journalist and sound artist Norbert Lang, Ruben Kurschat from urban sounds to go developed a collective exchange of stories about giving and receiving. Guided by voice messages, the participants explored the various facets of taking and giving in the urban space.
